Microcement pricing can look confusing from the outside because two very different things get quoted under the same name: a fully supplied-and-installed professional job, and a materials-only DIY kit. They're not comparable numbers, and most of the sticker shock people report is from comparing the wrong one to the wrong expectation.

What actually drives the cost

Three things determine what any microcement project costs, regardless of who's doing the work:

  • Surface area. The most obvious factor — a backsplash costs a fraction of a full floor, simply on material volume.
  • Labour, if you're hiring it out. Professional application is skilled, hand-trowelled work, and this is usually the single largest line item in a quoted price — often larger than the material cost itself.
  • Substrate condition. A surface needing extra prep — cracks, unevenness, moisture issues — adds time and sometimes additional primer or levelling material before the actual microcement system even starts.

What a DIY kit actually costs

Because labour is usually the biggest cost driver, a materials-only kit is where microcement becomes genuinely affordable. Our kit pricing, as of today:

  • Sample Kit — ₹3,199. Enough to test colour and technique on a small patch before committing further.
  • Feature Wall Kit — ₹27,000, covering a single accent wall.
  • Kitchen Backsplash Kit — ₹29,000, sized for a standard backsplash run.
  • Nursery / Kid's Room Floor Kit — ₹37,000, covering 110 sq ft.
  • Dog Mom's Kit — ₹45,000, also 110 sq ft, with the anti-slip topcoat formulation.

Every kit price is inclusive of taxes, with transport charged "to pay" directly by the courier on delivery — not an additional markup on our end.

What professional installation adds

If you'd rather not DIY, installation is available as an add-on for a flat ₹20,000 on kits that support it — our team applies it on site. That flat rate is deliberate: it removes the guessing game of per-sqft labour quotes that vary wildly by contractor and city, and it's applied the same regardless of which kit you've chosen.

Where the real savings are

The gap between "professional microcement installation" and "DIY microcement kit" is almost entirely labour. The materials themselves — primer, base coat, pigment, sealer — cost roughly the same whether a crew or you apply them. If you're comfortable with hands-on weekend work (see our full DIY application guide), that's where the actual cost advantage of microcement over a full tile renovation shows up most clearly.

How it compares to re-tiling

A full professional tile renovation involves demolition, disposal, new tile material, grout, and labour — and if the existing surface has issues, substrate repair on top of that. A DIY microcement job over an existing surface skips demolition and disposal entirely, which is often a meaningful chunk of a tile renovation's total cost. For the direct comparison on everything beyond price, see microcement vs. tiles.

The honest bottom line

If you're pricing a full professional installation against a full professional tile job, expect them to land in a similar range. If you're willing to apply it yourself, a DIY kit is meaningfully cheaper than either — and the sample kit is a low-cost way to find out if DIY application is realistic for you before buying a full-size kit.
